<br />~ <br />~~HlLLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />January 22, 2007 <br /> <br />Agenda Item 2.C. <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />Michelle Wolfe, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Greg Hoag, Public Works Director <br />Schawn Johnson, Assistant City Administrator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />City of Arden Hills and Ramsey County Emergency Operations Plan and <br />Procedures Overview <br /> <br />Mr. Judd Freed (Ramsey County Emergency Management Director) and Ms. Krysta Reuter <br />(Ramsey County Emergency Management Coordinator) will be attending the January 22nd work <br />session to provide the City Council with an overview of the emergency management services <br />provided by Ramsey County, required National Incident Management Services (NIMS) training, <br />and the county-wide Emergency Operations Plan (EOP). Since September I 1,2001, emergency <br />management and homeland security have become very important issues for local government <br />entities. The Ramsey County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Department has <br />been working with local governments in Ramsey County for a number of years in creating an <br />Emergency Operations Plan that is user fiiendly and can be used county-wide. <br /> <br />For your review, please find attached a copy of the City's Emergency Operation Procedures and <br />a copy of the Ramsey County Emergency Management Plan that was adopted by the City <br />Council on November 14, 2005. City staff is currently working with Ramsey County on <br />updating the contact information for new City Councilmember's and City staff. <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />City staff is requesting City Council input regarding the City's Emergency Operation Procedures <br />and the Ramsey County Emergency Operations Plan. <br /> <br />Attachments: <br /> <br />· City of Arden Hills Emergency Operations Procedures <br />· Ramsey County Emergency Operations Plan <br />
