Procedure <br /> <br />Warning and Notification <br /> <br />Purpose <br /> <br />This standard operating procedure is intended to provide for the proper receipt and dissemination of all <br />warnings and notifications of natural or man-made disasters. It provides procedures to disseminate <br />warning to the general public within the jurisdictional areas of the City Arden Hills and to ensure that <br />immediate action is taken to minimize the effects of an impending or natural disaster. <br /> <br />I. General <br /> <br />The Ramsey County Warning Point, Sheriff s Patrol Station, ] 4 I I Paul Kirkwold Drive, Arden <br />Hills, is responsible for disseminating all watches and warnings to the City of Arden Hills except <br />for warnings for conditions generated within the City itself. The Ramsey County Warning Point <br />has a 24 hour warning capability_ <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills Warning Officer is the Sherifrs Department Supervisor. <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills Warning Point is the Ramsey County Sheriff's office at 14] I Paul <br />Kirkwold Drive. <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills Warning Officer is responsible for ensuring all warnings and notifications <br />are properly received and disseminated. <br /> <br />n. Actions to be taken by the City Warning Officer (Sheriffs Department Supervisor) when <br />there is an immediate threat to life: <br /> <br />A. Upon receipt of warning from Ramsey County Warning Point: <br /> <br />I. NotifY key city government officials. <br /> <br />2. Notify radio and/or TV stations as appropriate (in majority of cases Ramsey County will <br />contact news media when they have generated the warning). <br /> <br />3. Notify certain private and/or public facilities (hospitals, industries, nursing homes, etc.) <br /> <br /> <br />33 <br />
