<br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />~ <br />EN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />June 18, 2007 <br /> <br />Agenda Item 7D <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br />Michelle Wolfe, City Administrator \ ~ ~ <br /> <br />Karen Barton, Community Development Directo~ U <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Resolution 07-41 Ordering an Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) for <br />the TCAAP Redevelopment Project <br /> <br />Back!!round <br /> <br />1n preparation for the proposed redevelopment of the Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP), the <br />City has elected to perform an Alternative Urban Area-wide Review (AUAR) to assess potential impacts <br />from the proposed redevelopment. <br /> <br />The Minnesota Environmental Quality Board (EQB) requires the RGU, which in this case is the City of <br />Arden Hills, to formally order the Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) to initiate the process. <br /> <br />The EQB allows 120 days from the order ofthe AUAR to the publication of the final AUAR. However, <br />upon request of the Responsible Govermnental Unit (RGU), that period of time may be extended. Given <br />the extensive review involved in this process, Staff is recommending the City request an extension to <br />March 24, 2007 to ensure sufficient time to complete the AUAR process. This date is consistent with the <br />proposed tlmeline (Attachment A). <br /> <br />Attached is Resolution 07-41 ordering the AUAR for the TCAAP project and requesting an extension to <br />March 24, 2008.
