<br />The City of Minneapolis selected Kimley-Horn to serve as
<br />their on-call transit planning and design consultant. Tasks
<br />include review, planning, and design of transit facilities in
<br />the City of Minneapolis, including bus, light rail, bus rapid
<br />transit, and commuter rail facilities. Other services include
<br />transit-oriented intelligent transportation systems (ITS)
<br />planning and design.

<br />Repairs, MN
<br />
<br />Kimley-Horn is serving the Metropolitan Airports
<br />Commission to design a new overflow spillway to repair
<br />the failed spillway. The project includes a tied-back sheet
<br />pile wall and a rip-rap lined plunge pool.

<br />Metropolitan Airports Commission, Pond 4 Outlet,

<br />
<br />Kimley-Horn is serving the Metropoiitan Airports
<br />Commission to design a new Pond 4 outlet structure to
<br />meet Minnesota Pollution Control Authority requirements
<br />for emergency airport spill containment. The project
<br />includes a special inlet metering structure with slide gates
<br />connected to Minnesota River by 1,000 feet of 60-inch
<br />storm sewer. The project is in the initial phase of a
<br />multiyear program to improve the operation of a two-pond
<br />stormwater management system for controlling airport
<br />runoff entering the Minnesota River.

<br />Wetland Inventory and Delineation, MN and WI
<br />
<br />Team member Beth Kunkel, PWS,
<br />has extensive delineation
<br />experience, including in Minnesota
<br />during the past 20 years. The
<br />wetland delineations include linear
<br />corridors, state and county
<br />highways, light rail transit and
<br />pipeline corridors, and various
<br />development sites. Significant
<br />delineations have included wetland
<br />boundaries in and around Savage
<br />Fen, 40 miles of TH 14 (Janesville
<br />to Owatonna), Great Lakes pipeline
<br />(100 miles) in Minnesota and Wisconsin, 55 wetlands in
<br />the 450-acre Arbor Pointe planned community in Inver
<br />Grove Heights, and wetland function and value
<br />assessments for 10 separate road projects for the
<br />Montana Department of Roads.

<br />
<br />Beth Kunkel, PWS, has designed and monitored wetland
<br />replacement and banking plans for dozens of projects.
<br />The most notable was a 40-acre restoration/creation for
<br />the Anoka County Highway Department. Other projects
<br />included two 10- to 17-acre replacement sites for Dakota
<br />County Highway, the Ogle-Michels wetland
<br />creation/stormwater retention facility in Fond du Lac, WI,
<br />and a 16-acre site for the Illinois DOT She also has
<br />written a stream restoration pian for the Village of
<br />Menomonee Falls, WI.

<br />Wetland Conservation Act Oversight, City of
<br />Independence, MN
<br />
<br />Kimley-Horn provides wetland reviews under the Wetland
<br />Conservation Act for the City of independence. Beth
<br />Kunkel, PWS, reviews permit applications for wetland fill,
<br />site grading, mitigation plans, legal requirements,
<br />violations, and mitigation monitoring. Dozens of projects
<br />are reviewed annually.
