Flashing messages did not produce faster reading times, <br />. Flashing messages may have an adverse effect on message comprehension for <br />unfamiliar drivers, <br /> <br />. Average reading times for flashing line messages and two-phase messages were <br />significantly longer than for alternating messages, <br /> <br />.
