VII. GOALS AND POLICIES <br />This Plan also supports the establishment of policies for water resource management <br />which are realistic, attainable and economically feasible, as follows: <br />A. WATER QUANTITY <br />Goal: Use the natural characteristics of the Campus watersheds in combination <br />with development standards and projects, to reduce present and future <br />flood damages and enhance the quality of surface and ground water. <br />Policy: Establish standards for stormwater runoff quantity and quality for Campus <br />development consistent with RWCD, City of Roseville and NPDES Phase II <br />requirements. <br />Policy Implement and enforce a program to detect and eliminate illicit discharges <br />as defined in 40 CFR 122.26(b) (2). <br />B. WATER QUALITY <br />Goal: Protect and improve water quality and the scenic and ecologic values of <br />Campus lakes. The College seeks to maintain and improve the water <br />quality of its lakes using nutrient loading as the yardstick for success. <br />Policy: Preserve and improve the recreational resources associated with water <br />issue. <br />Policy: In cooperation with RCWD adopt standards for stormwater runoff quality <br />from new and re -developments. <br />C. NATURAL RESOURCES <br />Goal: Prioritize the important natural resources of the Campus and preserve key <br />components and characteristics of the terrestrial and aquatic communities <br />necessary for basic ecosystem function. <br />Policy: Maintain a diversity of plant and animal species. <br />Northwestern College Master Plan 20 13529.000 <br />Stormwater Management Study <br />
