<br />Page 3 <br /> <br />If the claims get accepted as a Work Compo injury, there hypothetically would be salary savings. <br />This savings get eaten-up by our increase in overtime to cover the work comp absence. Because <br />we are only authorized at a specific number of personnel we have to cover the absence out of our <br />Contract-City compliment, typically with overtime. <br /> <br />FYI, any budget adjustments are settled at the end ofthe year, what is referred to as <br />"Reconciliation". This is done by the Sheriff's Department accountant and reviewed by the State <br />Auditor on a yearly basis. The Contract Cities pay for the actual use of their shared resources. <br />The Sheriff's Department does not monetarily profit from this contact arrangement. If there is <br />cost over-runs or budget savings these are adjusted at the end ofthe year under the <br />"Reconciliation" process." <br /> <br />DIRECTION REQUESTED <br /> <br />Please review and forwarded any questions to me.
