. Questions #31-36 can be quantified with dollar amounts for each of the items on
the list ifthe City can provide the information.
. We have used the "right direction/wrong track" question for over the past twenty
years, we would recommend keeping the language the same so comparisons can
be made in our database.
. A question on having an event similar to the past one is difficult. A lot of people
are new to the community or didn't attend the previous event, so it would be
difficult for them to respond. We could put together a description of the event
and its activities and have them respond to that if desired.
. Defining service establishments is difficult in the survey. If we say "such as
laundry mats and accountants," people will answer the question thinking about
laundry mats and accountants. We would recommend if you are interested, in
following up the question with "What service establishments are needed?" if they
answer "too few."
. Adding the question "Do you consider living in Arden Hills to be a good value?"
needs further explanation. What is the comparison: neighboring communities,
communities they previously lived? What is the value: home price, property
taxes? Let us know what you are looking for and we would be happy to put
together a question around the topic.
. We strongly recommended keeping in the value of city services vs. the property
taxes they pay question. This is an important question for cities and gets to the
heart ofthe property taxes vs. services debate.
. We would recommend keeping the language "move-up housing" and "higher cost
housing" the same so comparisons can be made in our database.
. In Question #57 we would recommend keeping the language the same so
comparisons can be made in our database.
. In the commuting section, we added the question "What city do you work in?"
We can cross tab this question against minutes in the car and ease of getting to
and from work.
