Motion to Approve Ordinance 393 to Amend Section 900.06 of the Arden Hills City Code
Regarding the Minnesota State Fire Code.

2. Motion to Approve Publishing a Summary of Ordinance 393 (requires 4/5 vote). Background

Background

This past year the State adopted a new Fire Code. The State went frorn the 2000 International
Codes Council (ICe) Codes to the more current 2006 ICC Codes. Even though the City has
adopted the Code as amended from time to time, the State recommends readopting the State Fire
Code due to the change in the numbering of the code sections and that appendix H is now a part
of the Fire Code and no longer optional. Appendix H had referred to optional regulations
regarding the use of fires or barbeques on balconies or patios. Those regulations are now
required; however, Arden Hills had already adopted the regulations and this is simply a number
change.

IIMetro-inet.uslardenhillsIBuildinglMemosI2008 State Fire Code adoption.DOC
