<br />City of Arden Hills <br /> <br />Any delivered recyclable material that is deemed by the processor to be unable to be <br />marketed into recycled-content products. Typical "waste" in this context includes pumps <br />on plastic bottles, ceramic material in glass streams, frozen pizza boxes in paper stream, <br />etc. <br /> <br /> <br />3.25 Waste <br /> <br />4. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR RESIDENTIAL COLLECTIONS <br /> <br />4.1 Contractor Service Requirements <br /> <br />The Contractor agrees to provide residential recycling services to all single- family households <br />(approximately 2,560). At this time, the three MFD buildings (173 units) and the manufactured <br />home park (294 units) are not included, but may be included in the future. <br /> <br />4.2 Contractor Licensing Requirements <br /> <br />The City's ordinance is scheduled to be amended by the end of 2007 to require all haulers of <br />recyclable materials obtain a hauling license issued by the City. <br /> <br />4.3 Collection Vehiele Equipment Requirements <br /> <br />All collection vehicles used in performance of the contract shall be duly licensed and inspected <br />by the State of Minnesota and shall operate within the weight allowed by Minnesota Statutes. <br /> <br />Each collection vehicle shall be equipped with the following: <br /> <br />a. Two-way communications device. <br /> <br />b. First aid kit. <br /> <br />c. An approved 2AIOBC Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher. <br /> <br />d. Warning flashers. <br /> <br />e. Warning alarms to indicate movement in reverse. <br /> <br />[ Sign on the rear of the vehicle which states "This Vehiele Makes Frequent Stops" or <br />similar language. <br /> <br />g. A broom and shovel for cleaning up spills. <br /> <br />All of the required equipment must be in proper working order. All vehicles must be maintained <br />in proper working order and be as clean and free from odors as possible. All vehicles must be <br />clearly identified on both sides with Contractor's name and telephone number. <br /> <br />4.4 Personnel Requirements <br /> <br />Contractor shall retain sufficient personnel and equipment to fulfill the requirements and <br />specifications of tIE services described in this RFP. The Contractor will provide a Route <br />Supervisor to oversee the recycling route drivers servicing the City. The Route Supervisor will <br />be available to address customer complaints each day. The Contractor shall have on duty <br />Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. a dispatch customer service representative to <br />receive customer calls and route issues.
