As a result, the City hired Bonestroo to assist with a <br />study that would begin to identify sources of 1&1 and determine appropriate steps to reduce the <br />City's 1&1. <br /> <br />Attached is a report discussing the existing sanitary sewer system, methods used in the study to <br />date, potential 1&1 sources to consider, preliminary conclusions and recommended next steps. <br /> <br />FINANCIAL IMPLICATIONS <br /> <br />The MCES program, as implemented, includes an annual surcharge for a period of five years, <br />which began in 2007. The City of Arden Hills has been surcharged $500,500, or $100,100 per <br />year over the five year period. This annual amount has been included in the City's 2008 budget <br />and in the Five-year Capital bnprovement Plan (CIP.) <br /> <br />RECOMMENDED COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Receive 1&1 report and provide staff with feedback on proposed 2008 work plan. <br />
