<br /> <br />~ <br />EN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />March 24, 2008 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br />Jim Willis, Interim City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Kristine Giga, Civil Engineer <br />Deb Bloom, City Engineer <br />Greg Hoag, Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Motion to Authorize Staff to Contract with Bolton & Mcnk, Inc. to <br />Provide Technical Support for Transportation Projects <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills approved an engineering consultant pool on August 27, 2007 for use on <br />specialized projects or projects that the City of Roseville' s Engineering Department may not <br />have the capacity to assist with. <br /> <br />The City Council indicated a desire to engage a consultant on the City's behalf to review various <br />aspects of the proposed transportation projects in the City. City staff reviewed the firms in its <br />transportation engineering pool, and is recommending Bolton & Menk, Inc. for this work. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br /> <br />The support to be provided with this contract includes, but is not limited to: review oftechnical <br />documents, proposed concepts, responses to the Interstate 694, Highway 10 and County Road 96 <br />Preliminary Design Issues and Position Paper provided by Ramsey County and/or MnlDOT, or <br />other information pertaining to the transportation projects being proposed in the City that the <br />City Council would like reviewed. Meetings with City staff, Ramsey County, MnlDOT or other <br />parties will occur on an as needed basis. The consultant will attend City Council meetings and <br />work sessions as needed.
