31St /u
Mayor and City Council members:
The Arden Manor Residents' Association was in agreement with all the points
made in the current position paper which the city will be voting on tonight. In an
effort to cover all the bases, we wanted the attorneys at the Housing Preservation
Project (one of our allies) to look it over and let us know what they thought. They
don't think it will prevent the residents from shaping and influencing the process
down the line as the city attempts to arrive at a final conceptual design for Hwy
10. One last clarification could be made, which would be the following:
"This resolution does not imply municipal consent for the Hwy
10 project. The city reserves the right to withhold municipal
consent until a final conceptual design meets the conditions
outlined in the council's position paper."
Ideally, this could be added as the 3rd point of the Resolution under consideration
tonight. The purpose is to clearly state that nothing in the resolution takes away
the city's "municipal consent" powers. Nor would it's consent be transfered over to
the mayor and city staff.
Respectfully submitted,
Kristy Effinger
1969 Banyan St.
Arden Hills, MN 55112
Secretary, Arden Manor Residents' Association
