EN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: May 7, 2008 Work Session <br />TO: Planning Commission <br />FROM: James Lehnhoff, City Planner <br />SUBJECT: 2008 Comprehensive Plan <br />Draft of the Vision, Policies, and Strategies by Chapter <br />Requested Action <br />Staff requests feedback on the draft 2008 Comprehensive Plan. <br />Background <br />Work on the 2008 Comprehensive Plan update continues to move forward. The information collected from <br />the community meeting; the City Council, Planning Commission, PTRC, and EDC work sessions; previous <br />City plans; and requirements set by the Metropolitan Council and State Statutes have formed the basis of the <br />draft Plan. Since much of the 1998 Comprehensive Plan is still applicable today, portions of that Plan have <br />been reformatted and included in the draft 2008 Comprehensive Plan. <br />The Planning Commission last reviewed the draft Plan at a work session on March 20, 2008. The City <br />Council has since held two work sessions to review most of the draft Plan. Most of the changes that have <br />occurred since the last Planning Commission work session are noted on the document. The underlined <br />portions are new, and the deleted text is on the right hand side of the page. Minor grammar and punctuation <br />corrections may not be shown on the document. <br />Staff is requesting that the Planning Commission review the changes that have occurred since the last review <br />and provide feedback. Although this is still considered a working draft, the Plan is nearing its final stages. If <br />you do notice grammar or punctuation errors, please mark them in your copy of the document and provide <br />your copy to Staff for review. This will help us be more efficient with our time so we can focus on the <br />content of the document. Your copy can be returned to you upon request. <br />The 2008 Comprehensive Plan is divided into the following chapters (the organization of the chapters may <br />be modified in the final version of the Plan): <br />1.
