ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND REDEVELOPMENT (IN PROGRESS) <br />Goal: Promote the development and maintenance of a viable, innovative, and <br />diverse business environment serving the residential, business and regional <br />community. <br />To achieve this economic development and redevelopment goal the following <br />policies are proposed: <br />o Strengthen existing partnerships between public agencies and engage the <br />private sector to encourage development and redevelopment prolectS <br />o _ Identify incentives or programs that promote private sector development of <br />affordable housing especially as part of mixed use development <br />o_ Capitalize on existing strengths such as location freeway access and a <br />well-educated population. <br />o Identify constraints to development and redevelopment. <br />o Identify marketing and promotion tools and techniques to attract commercial <br />office, residential and industrial uses.
