<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION -April 21, 2008 <br /> <br />6 <br /> <br />C. Comprehensive Plan Update and Discussion <br /> <br />City Planner Lehnhoff stated Council has been provided with the most recent draft of the <br />Comprehensive Plan Update. To stay on schedule revisions to the Plan should be wrapped up to <br />the 98% level in June in order to have a review by the Planning Commission and approval by the <br />City Council and allow time for review from adjacent communities. <br /> <br />Council and staff discussed the following sections of the Draft 2008 Comprehensive Plan dated <br />April 18,2008: I) Introduction; 2) Community Profile; 3) City Vision; 4) Active Living; 5) Twin <br />Cities Army Ammunition Plant (TCAAP) Property Redevelopment; 6) Land Use; 9) Parks and <br />Recreation. The following amendments were requested by Council; <br /> <br />Draft Revised City Vision Statement <br />City Planner Lehnhoff noted the draft revised City Vision Statement. He distributed emailed <br />comments and suggestions on the revised city vision submitted by Bill Henry. <br /> <br />It was the consensus ol the City Council that the drafi revised City Vision Statement should <br />remain as included in the April J 8, 2008 Draft. <br /> <br />2. Community Profile <br />Staff to verifY that the students residing in the City are included in Housing Units and People per <br />Housing Unit Chart on page] O. <br /> <br />4. Active Livine <br />City Planner Lehnhoff stated active living elements are represented throughout the rest of the <br />Plan. The goal for this chapter is to tie together a more recognizable active living topic. <br /> <br />4.1 Active Livine Principles <br />Amend Principle No. 2 as follows: "Everyone, regar-dless of age, gender, sClmal orientation, <br />language, etlmieity, economic status or ability, should have safe, convenient and affordable <br />choices for physical activity." <br /> <br />Amend Principle No.4 as follows: "Development patterns should encourage mixed uses and <br />eom]laet active living design where appropriate as well as a variety of transportation choices." <br /> <br />Amend Principle No.8 as follows: 'The City should collaborate with municipalities and other <br />governing bodies should to plan for ongoing..." <br /> <br />Amend Principle No. 9 as follows: "The Community Citv's governmg and planning <br />processes... " <br /> <br />5. Twin Cities Army Ammunition Plan (TCCAP) Property Redevelopment <br /> <br />Goal Statement <br />Staff to consider alternate positive language as opposed to the term "compatible" in the TCAAP <br />Property Redevelopment Goal Statement. <br />
