<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> § 5-59 ABDEN HILLS CODE <br /> <br /> Sec. 5-59. Redemption by owner; fee. <br /> Any dog impounded pursuant to the provisions of this <br /> division may be redeemed from the pound by the owner <br /> thereof within five (5) days after such impoundment upon <br /> payment to the clerk-administrator of such impoundment <br /> fee as has been from time to time established by the city <br /> council by resolution, plus the licenae fee required purauant <br /> to section 5-47 hereof in the event the dog is not licensed. <br /> (Ord. No. 198, § 9, 6-27-77) <br /> Sec. 5-60. R,elease. <br /> Upon the presentation of proof of a valid license for such <br /> ~ dog and payment of the fees provided in the previous section <br /> hereof, the poundkeeper shall release the dog to ita owner. <br /> The poundkeeper shall further take such steps as are <br /> necessary to cause the owner of the dog to be charged vvith <br /> any violation of this article which gave rise to the <br /> impoundment of the dog. (Ord. No. 198, § 9, 6-27-77) <br /> Sec. 5-61. Redemption by person other than owner. <br /> <br /> If the owner of any dog impounded under this division <br /> shall fail to redeem such dog within five (5) clays after its <br /> impoundment, not including Sunday or holidays, any other <br /> person may, upon complying with the provisions of this <br /> division, redeem such dog from the pound and be the lawful <br /> owner of such dog thereafter. If the dog has been requested <br /> by a licensed educational or scientific institution under <br /> Section 35.71 of Minnesota Statutes, then it shall be given to <br /> such institution and ahall not be sold. Disposition of unredeemed dogs. <br /> All dogs impounded under thia division which have not <br /> been redeemed or purchased as authorized hereby may be <br /> disposed of in a humane manner by the poundkeeper or any <br /> police officer.
