<br /> <br /> 1 <br /> § 6-184 ARDEN HILLS CODE <br /> <br /> well ahall be conatructed and located in such manner as to <br /> place it above all poasible sourcea of pollution. No well shall <br /> be conatructed or located within three (3) feet of the outside <br /> basement wall of a dwelling, nor ahall a well be conatructed <br /> or located within fifteen (15) feet of a property line. The <br /> outside basement footing ahall be continuous across the <br /> opening of the well alcove. <br /> (b) In all cases a well shall be located in such manner as <br /> to provide the following minimum distances between the <br /> well and possible sources of contamination, to wit: <br /> (1) Buried or concealed e$tra heavy cast iron aewer or <br /> drain linea with lead caulked, air tested jointa-20 <br /> feet. <br /> (2) Vitrified clay or concrete sewers or cast iron aewers <br /> not of construction described above, septic tanks, or <br /> drain fields-50 feet. <br /> (3) Dry wells, seepage pita, cesspools-75 feet. Contamination to be avoided. <br /> <br /> Each individual water supply syatem or well ahall be <br /> located and constructed in such manner, consistent with the <br /> provisions of this article as to prevent contamination of its <br /> water supply by any egisting sewage disposal system or <br /> sewage disposal syatems that may reasonably be antici- <br /> pated in the future, and to minimize as far as possible the <br /> ' possible contamination of the well from all poasible eaternal <br /> sources within the geological strata surrounding the well. <br /> (Ord. Inetallation in pit. <br /> No well shall be inatalled in a pit below the surface of the <br /> ground unless such well pit is an alcove opening directly <br /> into the main basement area of the building being served by <br /> the well.
