A flood which is representative of large <br /> floods known to have occurred generally in Minnesota and <br /> reasonably characteristic of what can be expected to occur <br /> on an average frequency in the magnitude of the one <br /> hundred-year recurrence interval. Regional flood is synony- <br /> rnous with the term "base flood" used in the flood insurance <br /> study. <br /> Regulatory flood protection eleuation. The regulatory flood <br /> protection elevation shall be an elevation no lower than one <br /> (1) foot above the elevation of the regional flood, plus any <br /> increases in flood elevation caused by encroachments on the <br /> floodplain that result from designation of a floodway. <br /> Structure. Anything constructed, the use of which requires <br /> more or less permanent location on the ground or <br /> attachment to something having a permanent location on <br /> the ground. (Ord. Designation of zoning districts. <br /> <br /> The floodplain areas within the jurisdiction of this <br /> chapter are hereby divided into three (3) districts as follows: <br /> (1) Floodway district. The floodway district shall include <br /> those areas designated as floodway in the flood <br /> insurance study. <br /> (2) Flood fringe district. The flood fringe district shall <br /> include those areas designated as floodway fringe in <br /> the flood insurance study. <br /> (3) General floodplain district.
