Definition f <br /> o coin-operated amusement device.» <br /> The term coin-operated amusement device or device as used <br /> herein means a mechanical amusement device of any of the fol- <br /> lowing types: <br /> (a) A machine or contrivance, including a pinball machine; a <br /> mechanical miniature pool table, bowling machine, shuffle <br /> board, electric rifle or gun range; a miniature and mechan- <br /> ical device and game or other amusement patterned after <br /> baseball, basketball, hockey and similar games; a video or <br /> computerized game; or a game which may be played solely <br /> for amusement and not as a gambling device-which ma- <br /> chine or contrivance is played by the insertion of a coin, <br /> slug or other token, or at a fee fixed and charged by the <br /> establishment in which such machine or contrivance is lo- <br /> cated and which contains no automatic payoff features for <br /> the return of money, coins, merchandise, checks, tokens or <br /> any other thing or item of value; provided, however, that <br /> such machine or contrivance may be equipped to permit a <br /> free play or game; or <br /> (b) An amusement device designed for and used exclusively as <br /> a ride by children such as, but not limited to, a kiddie car, <br /> miniature airplane ride, mechanical horse, or other min- <br /> iature mechanical device, not operated as part of or in con- <br /> nection with any carnival, circus, show, or other entertain- <br /> ment or exhibition.
