<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ~ STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> VILLA6E OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 169 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 105, <br /> RELATING TO THE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION, <br /> -BY ENLARGING THE COMPOSITION THEREOF <br /> AND PROVIDING SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR <br /> REGULAR AND AD HOC MEMBERS THEREOF; <br /> ANp REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 115. - <br /> The V illage Council of the Village of Arden Hills does <br /> hereby ordain as follows: Section 1. Amentlment of Ordinance No. 105. - <br /> Sectton 4 of Ordinance 105, relating ro the Human <br /> Righis Commission, is hereby amendetl in its entirety to <br /> read as follows: <br /> Section 4. Composition of Commi55ion. The Com- <br /> mission shall consist of ten (10) regular members to be <br /> appointed by Mayor and MTh the advice and consent of <br /> the Council. Additional ad hoc members, requested by <br /> the Chairman of the Commission for special projecis, <br /> may also be appointed To serve Thereon by the Mayor <br /> and with the advice and consent of the Council. Bolh <br /> regular and ad hoc members of the Commi55ion shall be <br /> , appointed wiYh tlue regard to iheir fitness for the ef- <br /> ficient aispatch of the tunctions, powers and duties " <br /> vested in and imposed upon the Commission. <br /> At least eight .(8) of the regular members of the <br /> Commission shall be a minimum of iwenTy-one (21) <br /> years of age and each such adult member, after the <br /> original appoinTmenTS, shall be appointed for a Term of <br /> three (3) years, except That any person appointed To fill <br /> a vacancy occurring prior to the expiration of the term <br /> for which his predecessor was appointed shall be ap- <br /> pointed only for the remainder of such term. The <br /> regular members of the Commission who are less Than <br /> twenty-one (21) years of age shall be appoinTed fOr one <br /> (ll year ferms. Upon the expiration of his term of office, <br /> a regular member shall continue t0 serve until his <br /> successor is appoinTed and shall have qualified. To <br /> insure regulariTy in the composition of the Commission, <br /> the first year of any term of a regular member shall be <br /> deemed to end aT the expiraTion of the calendar year in <br /> which the appoinimenT is made. <br /> Atl hoc members shall be appointetl for one year (1) <br /> ferms, which shall be deemed to have expired af the end <br /> of the calendar year in which the appoiniment is made. <br /> The first Commission shall cansist of iwo (2) regular <br /> members appointed for a term of ihree (3) years, iwo . <br /> - (2) regular members for a term of two (2) years, and <br /> fwo (2) regular members for a term of one (1) year. <br /> - BoTh regular members and ad hoc members of the <br /> Commission shal I serve with out campensation and may <br /> be removed from office for cause by the Mayor. <br /> .Section 2. Repeat of Ordinance No. 115. <br /> Ordinance No. 115, which amendetl Section 4 of Or- <br /> dinance 105 To enlarge the composition of the Human <br /> Righfs Commission and provided specific qualifications <br /> for the members ihereof antl which was passed by the <br /> Council on the 301h day of June, 1969, i5 hereby repealed <br /> in its entirety. <br /> Section 3. Effective Date. <br /> This Ordinance shall be in effect from and after iTs <br /> passage and publication. - <br /> Passed by the Council of Arden Hills this 12Th day of <br /> February, 1973. <br /> Henry J.
