STATE OF M INliESO TA GOUNTY OF Rl"aIMEY VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS ORDINfiNCE NUMBER 17 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE IjITUMBER 11, RELATING TOTHE REGIS- , TR1iT ION , IDENT IF IC AT IO NAND KEE P TNG OF DO GS o THE VILi.AGE COUNCIL (7F ARDEN HILLS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTIf7N la Ordinance Number 11, approved June 27, 1955, and ~ publi s e u y , 1955a is hereby amended by renumbering Section"12, Section 13, Section 14 and Section 15 thereof as Sections 149 159 16 and 1.7s r'eSpectiJEly' and inserting the following numbered sec- tions as Sections 12 and 13,to-vyit o f` SECTIDN 12 e Na owner or keeper o f any dog s whether lic ensed ~ or un cense ~iall permit such dog to run at large e Any dog shall ! be deemed to be run.ning at large unless sueh dog is aecampanied in elose proximity by its avfiner and under such eff'ective direction; , ~ supervision, and control of its avmr as to be in fact restr^ained by sueh ovrner at a11 time s; provided hawesrer, that during all tirres that any such dog remai ns on hi s O T,'t31erQ 5 pT'eIfiISE S the dog shalZ be deemed to be withi.n the effective direction, supervision and control of said ownere The fact that a dog is running at large within the meaning of this Section sha11 be prima facie proof of a violation hereof, and sha11 subject the owrer or keeper of such dog to the penalty provided in Section 15e SECTI ON 13, Complaint s regarding vio lat3.ons of thi s Ord inan ce f shall e rec ed to the Vi11age Police Force, and in the event they determine there is an apparent violation hereofg they sha11 refer su:ch complaint to a suitable ageney to be seleeted by the Ccuncil whieh agency shall pick up the dog and retain it o In the e vent the dog, is licensed by the Village of Arden Hills the agency or the Council or the ViZlage Clerk shall notif°y the party obtaining sa.eh lic ense , by mai 1 or by te lephone i that the dog has been picked up o Any do g s o he Id may be re deeme d by the o v4ne r or ke eper the re of upo n pwy me nt to the Vill age C le rk of the actu.al eharge made t o the V3l- 1age for the piekup and keeping vf sucYa dog, togethsr* with the pay- ment of such fine as may be assessed under the pro visions of this f3rdinance. In the event the dog i.s n.ot redeemed wit,hin five (5) days after the giving of such noti(;e a or within five (5) d.ays after the date of piekupg if the dog is not licensed by the Village, then the dog may be dispo se d of in the manner provi ded by Statute. . In the e,,rent the Police Force receives calls re- garding dead dogs fdund within the Village such calls shali be re- ferred to the same agency named by the Council.
