• STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF RA,.MSEY CITY OF ARDEN HILLS ORDINANCE NO. 208 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 28-56(a) AND (g) OF THE ARDEN HILLS CITY CQDE RELATING ' TO WATER RATES AND DEMAND CNARGES The City Council of the City of Arden Hills ordains that Chapter 28 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Arden Hills, Minnesota,'be amended in the following respeets: 1.. Amendment to Sec. 28-56(a) of Code Relating to Water Rates and Demand Charges. Subsections (a) and (g) ot Sec. 28-56 of the Arden Hills City Code of Ordinances are hereby amended to read as follows: "(a) The rate due and payable by each water user within the city for water taken from the water system shall be as established in resolutions adopted from time to time by the city council." "(g) In addition to the foregoing charges for water consumption, each water user within the city shall pay an additional quarterly demand charge for the pur- pose of couering certain fixed costs of the city in maintaining the municipal water system, which charges shall be as establi.shed in resolutions adopted frorn time to time by the city council. The owner of a parcel of impraved residential property, any portion of which is located within four hundred (400) feet of a fire hydrant, shall also pay such quarterly demand or stand-by charge as is estab- lished from time to time by resolution adopted by the city council even though such property is not conneeted to the municipal water system. Similarly, the owner of any parcel of improved or nonresidential property, any portion of which is located within four hundred (400) feet of a city fire hydrant, shall pay such quarterly demand or stand-by eharge as is established by resolution adopted from time to time by the city council." 2. Effective Date. After its publication, this Ordinance shall be retroactively effective as of April l, 1979.
