<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ~ ORDINANCE NO. 8 <br /> An Ordinance Relating to Grasa <br /> and Brush Fires <br /> Section 1. <br /> From and after the effective date <br /> of thia ordinance it ahall be unlaw- <br /> fu] for any person, firm or corpora- <br /> tion to burn off any land area bY <br /> setting on fire or causing to be set <br /> afire thereon any brush, weeds, stumpa. <br /> dry grass, stubble, swamp growth or <br /> any other growing and combustible <br /> material within the limits of the Vil- <br /> Iage of Arden Hills, without having _ <br /> first complied with the provisiona of <br /> this ordinance. <br /> Section 2. <br /> The firea particularly described in <br /> Section 1 hereof are being classified <br /> and referred to herein as field firea. <br /> No such fires shall be aet or com- <br /> menced on Monday through Friday, <br /> between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and <br /> 6:00 p.m., nor on Saturdays and Sun- <br /> days between the hours of 6:00 a.m. <br /> and 12 :00 Noon : provided however, <br /> that on legal holidays, regardlesa of <br /> the day of the week that they may <br /> fall upon, such firea may be set or <br /> commenced at any time excepk between <br /> 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon. During the <br /> hours other than the prohibited per- <br /> ioda as hereinbefore set forth, no auch <br /> firea shall be set or commenced ex- <br /> cept after the notice as hereinafter <br /> aet forth. <br /> Section 3. <br /> In the event any person, firm or <br /> corporation desires to set or com- <br /> mence a field fire between the hours <br /> of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 s.m., such per- <br /> sona shall firat notify one of the <br /> police officers of the Village of Arden <br /> Hills, state the time and the location <br /> af the setting of the fire, and requeat <br /> that a member of he police force be <br /> present at that time and place. In the <br /> event a police officer advises the ap- <br /> plicant that he will be present at such <br /> time, then the fire may be set after <br /> reasonable precautions have been tak- <br /> en by the property owner or his agents <br /> or employeea to guard againat the <br /> spreading of the fire beyond the area <br /> intended to be burned. <br /> One of the police officers of the <br /> Village, after having received such a <br /> notice, shall attend at the time and <br /> place of the fire. In the event auch <br /> officer determines that the burning <br /> is out of control, or that there ia a <br /> reasonable probability of the fire <br /> epreading beyond the area intended <br /> to be burned, he ahall promptly notify <br /> the fire department. <br /> Section 4. <br /> Any person who shall violate any <br /> provision of this ordinance ahall be <br /> guilty of a miademeanor and upon <br /> conviction thereof ahall be punished <br /> by a fine not exceeding $100.00 or <br /> imprisonment not exceeding 90 days. <br /> Section 5. <br /> This ordinance shall take effect and <br /> be in force from and after its nassage <br /> and legal publication. <br /> Passed by the Village Council of <br /> Arden Hilla this lst day of June, <br /> 1954. <br /> ROBERT O.
