Non-sanctioned Racing Prohibited. Racing-- <br /> that is, the participation of two or more operators of motorboats <br /> operating their motorboats in a competition of speed--shall be <br /> prohibited on the waters of Lake Johanna unless the same takes <br /> place as part of a scheduled or public race, regatta, tournament <br /> or other competition or exhibition duly sanctioned by the Sheriff_ <br /> of Ramsey County pursuant to Section 361.20 of Minnesota Statutes, <br /> as amended. <br /> Section 6. Enforcement and Notification of Public. The <br /> appropriate officia s o t e City of Ar en Hi s are authorized <br /> and directed to make such arrangements with the County of Ramsey, <br /> including entering into a joint powers agreement therewith, if <br /> necessary, to insure the placement of the buoys demarcatirig tYie <br /> Restricted Speed Zones, the notification of the public of the exist- <br /> ence of this Ordinance and the enforcement of the provisions of <br /> this Ordinance by the Ramsey County Sheriff's office. Notwith- <br /> standing anything herein to the contrary, officers of the Arden <br /> Hills Police Department shall be authorized and entitled to enforce <br /> the provisions of this Ordinance in conjunction with and in addi- <br /> tion to officers and deputies of the Ramsey County Sheriff`s office, <br /> whether or not said officers of the Arden Hills Police Department <br /> are deputized by the Ramsey County Sheriff's office. <br /> Section 7. Penalties. Any person who shall violate any <br /> of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, <br /> and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine 'of not,more <br /> than $300.00 or by imprisonment for not more than 90 da_ys, or both. <br /> Section 8. Re eal of Ordinances Nos. 9 and 33. Ordinance <br /> No. 9 entitle An Ordinance Esta lis ing ules and P.egulations•for <br /> the Operation of Motorboats in Public Waters and. Licensing Games and <br /> Exhibitions in Public Waters", passed by the Arden Hills Council on <br /> the 26th day of July, 1954, and Ordinance No. 33, entitled "An <br /> Ordinance Providing for the Licensing and Regulation of Motorboats <br /> on Lakes Wholly Within the Boundaries of Arden Hills", passed by the <br /> Arden Hills Council on the 30th day of June, 1958, are hereby <br /> repealed in their respective entireties. <br /> Section 9. Effective Date.
