Al1 mechanical and electrical systems shall be <br /> designed and certified by an engineer registered <br /> as required in Chapter 326 of Minnesota Statutes, <br /> as amended. Reference to registered engineer or <br /> surveyor herein shall be construed to refer to re- <br /> gistration under said Chapter 326. <br /> Central air-conditioning systems shall be em- ' <br /> ployed, No window units will be accepted. . <br /> F <br /> 3. Any multiple-family dwelling with more than two I <br /> floors sha11 have the structural system designed and ~ <br /> certified by a registered structural engineer. <br /> 4. No living quarters shall be below grade except <br /> such areas as are designed for use for amusement, <br /> recreation, storage and parki.ng purposes. 3 <br /> 5. Prior to the issuance of a building permit the ~ <br /> applicant for such permit sha11 file a grading and ~ <br /> drainage plan designed and certified by a registered <br /> engineer or registered surveyor. The plan must clearly ~ <br /> indicate the elevations of proposed buildings, incl.uding ~ <br /> garages, driveways and streets and the proposed drainage i <br /> on the lot or parcel, its effect on adjacent properties <br /> and shall clearly indicate the place of final disposal ~ <br /> of storm waters. ~ <br /> , <br /> Sound. Except within dwelling units, one and three-quarter inch j <br /> soli_d core doors equipped with gaskets or closing plates are ~ <br /> requited. <br /> ~ <br /> Room relationships, hallway designs, door and window placements ~ <br /> and plumbing and ventilating installations shall be such that ~ <br /> t~hey assist in the control and reduction of sound transmission ~ <br /> from unit to unit. Plumbing, heating, ventilating, and electrical <br /> must he witkiin the dwelling unit and separated from other <br /> dw:lling units by a room, claset, corridor, or sound barrier, ~ <br /> ~ <br /> iart-y partitions and floor systems sha1l be of a type rated by a <br /> nationally-recognized testing labaratory as capable of accom- ~ <br /> plishing a loss in sound transmission of not less than 55 decibies <br /> detcrmined by averaging the loss at frequencies 125, 250, 350, ~ <br /> 500, 700, 1,000, 2,000 and 4,000.
