<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> i STATE OF MINNE30TA <br /> COUNTY OF RAM3EY <br /> VILLAGE OF ARDEN SILLS <br /> OftDTNANCE NO. 96 <br /> AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE <br /> DISCHARGE OF WEAPONS AND THE <br /> USE OF OTHER DANGEROUS DE- <br /> VICES, REGULATTNG THE U8E <br /> THEREOF, PROVIDING FOR SPECIAL <br /> PERMITS IN SPECIFIED CASES, AND <br /> PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLA- <br /> TIONS. <br /> The, Village Gowncil of the Village of <br /> Arden Hills does hereby ordain as fo]- <br /> lows : <br /> Section 1. Definitions. Deadly Weapona. <br /> - - The term "deadly weapons" as used here- <br /> in shatl inctude the following: (1) all <br /> firearms; (2) bows and arrows when <br /> the arrows are pointed or tipped; (3) <br /> all instruments used to expel] at high <br /> velocity any pellets of any kind, includ- <br /> ing, but not limited to, BB guns and air <br /> rifles; (4) sling shota; (5) metal knuckl- <br /> es: and (6) switchblade knives, being <br /> knives with retractable blades. <br /> Section 2. Except as herein specifically <br /> . aelthorized, the discharging or use of . <br /> deadly weapons within the Village of <br /> Arden Hills is hereby prohibited. <br /> Section S. The aiming of any deadly <br /> weapon, whether loaded or not, at or <br /> towards any human being, is hereby pro- <br /> hibited. ~ <br /> Section 4. The Selling, giving> loaning, <br /> or furniahing in any wap of any deadly <br /> weapon to a minor- under the age of 18 yesrs without the written consent of <br /> his parents or guardian is hereby pro- <br /> • hibited. <br /> Section 5. No minor under the age of <br /> 14 yeara shall handle or have in his <br /> poaseasion or under hia control, except <br /> while accompanied by or under the im- <br /> mediate charge of hia parent or guar- <br /> dian, any deadly weapon. <br /> Section 6. The possession by any per- <br /> sone other than a public officer of any <br /> deadly weapon concealed on his or her <br /> person is hereby prahibited. <br /> Section 7. The firing of a gun or use <br /> of other dexdly weapon in the lawful de- <br /> fense of the person, property or family <br /> of the user of said weapon is excepted <br /> from the prohibitions aet forth in this <br /> Ordinance, and similarly, the firing of a <br /> gun or use of other deadly weapone in <br /> the necessary enforcement of the Iaw, <br /> whether by a Police officer or a private <br /> individual, is also excepted from the pro- , hibitions contained herein. <br /> Section 8. The Village Council may <br /> promulgate regulationa for the suitable <br /> protection of Aersona and proPerty and, <br /> subject to such regulations, the Council <br /> may issue special permits to dulg-organ- <br /> ized clubs and their members for ahoot- <br /> ing or the use of the use of sir riPles <br /> ar bow snd arrowa on landa owned or <br /> leased by auch c]u•ba. 3nch permita shall <br /> be issued by the Villsge Clerk upon dir. <br /> ection of the Council, shall be in writing, <br /> and shall be valid only when in the pos- <br /> - - aesaion of the persan to whom isaued. - <br /> Section 9. Any person violating any <br /> of the proviaiona of this Ordinance ahall <br /> be guilty of a misdemeanor, and ugon <br /> conviction thereaf shall be punished by <br /> a fine not exceeding $100.00 or imprison- <br /> ment in the county jail for a term not <br /> to exceed 90 days. <br /> Section 10.
