Motion to Authorize Staff to Proceed with the Purchase and
Installation of a Park Si2D for Johanna Marsh for $2.,400

Parks and Recreation Manager Michelle Olson stated that the tennis court had
been resurfaced, brush removal was complete and the City Council formally named
the park Johanna Marsh. The final phase for the completion of Johanna Marsh is to
have a sign installed. She stated that Staff is recommending that the sign match the
new signs that have been installed at the City's other parks. She stated that Bruce
Eisenmenger, the President of Arden Hills No.3 Association, had stated concerns
about the possibility of directional signs being installed to assist people in finding
the park. The Association would prefer that the park signage be minimal.

Councilmember Grant asked if Staff had asked for quotes on a smaller sign..

Parks and Recreation Manager Olson stated that Staff s recommendation was to
stay with the same signage that the City had in other parks. Staff also believes that
the size of the sign will not draw additional people to the park. If requested, staff
could get quotes on a smaller sign.

Councilmember Grant stated that the City was essentially naming a tennis court
since the surrounding area was marsh land and could not be utilized by the public.
