<br /> <br />~ DEN HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />October 13, 2008 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br />Ron Moorse, City Administrator tf i1 <br /> <br />TCAAP Streets and Infrastructure <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The October 13 TCAAP work session will be focused on streetscaping and street-related <br />amenities, such as trails and sidewalks, and how they relate to the various types of roadways <br />planned as part of the TCAAP redevelopment. <br /> <br />The work session will begin with a relatively brief presentation to provide background <br />information regarding streetscaping, trees, and lighting; then move into discussions about <br />streetscape elements and street-related amenities, such as trails and sidewalks, for each of the <br />planned street types. The following is an outline of the work session presentation/discussion. <br /> <br />A. Background information presentation <br />· Provide an explanation and visuals to show what "mid-level" streetscape <br />amenities are. <br />· Show types, colors, and heights of the street trees that are proposed <br />· Show the lighting types and options that fit the "mid-level" cost range <br />· Present information regarding designing and maintaining median/boulevard <br />landscaping to ensure it survives over the long term <br />· Present information and visuals regarding traffic calming options. <br /> <br />B. Presentation/discussion regarding the cross-sections of the various street types, including the <br />appropriate streetscape elements and sidewalks/trails. The purpose of the presentation and <br />discussion is to facilitate the council providing direction in the following areas for each street <br />type: <br /> <br />1. General type and level of landscaping <br />2. General type and level of lighting <br />3.
