<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - September 8, 2008 <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Harpstead moved and Councilmember McClung seconded a <br />motion to approve a Motion to Authorize Staff to Contract with Bolton <br />& Menk, Inc., to Provide Engineering Services for the 2009 Pavement <br />Management Program - Glenarden Neighborhood in an Amount Not <br />to Exceed $147,238 and to Approve Resolution 2008-030: A <br />Resolution Ordering Preparation of Feasibility for the 2009 Pavement <br />Management Program. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant asked for clarification regarding the amounts being <br />requested. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer Giga stated that the quote from Bolton & Menk, Inc. included the <br />feasibility study, final design and construction services. She stated that the costs <br />involved with the fmal design and construction services would happen in the 2009 <br />budget period. <br /> <br />Councilmember Grant stated that the budgeted amount is $35,000 and the final <br />amount is $147,238. He asked Finance Director Iverson where the difference <br />would be coming from. <br /> <br />Finance Director Iverson stated that this amount would come from the City's PIR <br />Fund and is already in a capital fund. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead stated that the $35,000 was a 2008 budgeted amount and there is <br />a 2009 budgeted amount. <br /> <br />Finance Director Iverson stated that this would be correct. She clarified that this <br />amount is not part of the operating budget but rather part of the capital budget. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer Giga stated that the total amount for the project including <br />construction is about $2,000,000 including the engineering fees. <br /> <br />Councilmember Holden asked if the $2,000,000 project amount included sewer <br />and water. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer Giga stated that the sanitary sewer and water estimate is included. <br /> <br />The motion was called to a vote. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />C. Motion to Authorize Staff to Contract with Bolton & Menk, Inc. to <br />Prepare a Feasibility Report for the Future Snelling/Old Highway <br />
