ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - October 13, 2008

20

Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated that the plan does not cover
the electrical boxes at this time because they have not been discussed.

Mayor Harpstead asked if there was time in the schedule to defer the vote on the
plan to the next Council meeting.

Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated that it could be deferred to
the October 27, 2008 Council meeting. This would put things into a tight time
frame but it would be manageable.

Councilmember Holden stated that hotels are a special use within the B2 zone.
She asked if this would change in the new zoning.

Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated that it was not changed and
hotels would probably remain listed as a conditional use.

Mayor Harpstead clarified that this would come before the Planning Commission
and the Council before it was put in place.

Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated that if the hotel/motel use
were to be removed then that would constitute a change that would need to be
brought before the Planning Commission and the Council for approval.

Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated that the Council may need to
be more specific in defining retail or more restrictive in the B2 zone in order to
further restrict the types of businesses that are in this area.

Councilmember Holden stated page 2- I 7 refers to Transit Routes and asked to
clarify if these were circulars. She stated that the document should reflect that these
are not regular buses that people can take to get to places such as downtown.

Councilmember Holden stated that page 4-3 refers to the land use for Arden Plaza
and states that the hardware store should be kept. She asked for clarification
regarding this statement.

Community Development Director Lehnhoff stated that the statement was
intended to reflect the City's desire to keep the hardware store in its location for as
long as possible.

Councilmember Holmes stated that there are several other businesses that the City
would like to be sure are kept in their current locations.
