<br />October 1, 2008, DRAFT Planning Commission Minutes <br /> <br />PLANNING CASE # 08-025 - PUD AMENDMENT AND SITE PLAN <br />REVIEW - BOSTON SCIENTIFIC - 4100 HAMLINE AVENUE - PUBLIC <br />HEARING <br /> <br />City Planner Meagan Beekman reported that Boston Scientific is requesting <br />approval of a Planned Unit Development (PUD) Amendment and Site Plan <br />Review to construct a nitrogen storage tank and a liquid nitrogen vaporizer on the <br />east side of Building 14 located on the north end of the Boston Scientific Campus. <br />She explained the storage tank would be ten feet in diameter and 28 feet in height <br />and would be located on a concrete pad adjacent to an existing outdoor nitrogen <br />storage tank. She stated in addition to the storage tank, the applicant would install <br />a liquid nitrogen vaporizer that is 5'9" square and 15'9" in height. She indicated <br />the entire area will be enclosed by a fence. She stated staff is recommending <br />approval of the PUD and site plan subject to the four conditions contained in the <br />staff report. <br /> <br />Commissioner Thompson asked if staff received any comments from adjacent <br />property owners. <br /> <br />Ms. Beekman replied no comments were received by staff. <br /> <br />Commissioner Sand requested information regarding the proposed height of the <br />storage tank in relation to the building. <br /> <br />Ms. Beekman stated the proposed tank would be approximately eight feet taller <br />than the adjacent building. She also stated that extensive screening from existing <br />landscaping and trees would effectively screen the tank from view. <br /> <br />Chair Larson opened the public hearing at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />As no one wished to appear, Chair Larson closed the public hearing at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Reiff moved, seconded by Commissioner Holewa, to recommend <br />approval of Planning Case #08-025 for a PUD (9th) Amendment and Site Plan <br />Review at 4100 Hamline Avenue based on the findings of fact and the submitted <br />plans as amended by the four conditions in the October 1, 2008 Planning Case <br />report. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously (7-0). <br />
