<br />Commissioner Zimmerman inquired whether that was the original intent. <br /> <br />City Planner Beekman replied that this is saying that, in all zoning districts, fast <br />food restaurants need to be at least 1,320 feet away from each other. If it meets <br />certain criteria, then another could be allowed, in addition to the one freestanding <br />restaurant. If there are already two separate restaurants, then it would not meet <br />the criteria (within 1,320 feet and within the district). <br /> <br />Discussion ensued. <br /> <br />City Planner Beekman stated that B2 has the same wording as B4. The <br />circumstances in which it can be waived are different. The Staff could not <br />identify why it is different. The intent was to minimize <br />the fast food restaurants in other places. She added that there is no special <br />requirement in the I-Flex District. The special requirements are just in the <br />commercial districts. <br /> <br />Vice-Chair Thompson inquired whether the Commissioners had any other <br />questions. <br /> <br />There were no questions. <br /> <br />Vice-Chair Thompson opened the Public Hearing at 7:03 p.m. <br /> <br />There being no public input, Vice-Chair Thompson closed the Public Hearing at <br />7:04 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Holewa moved, seconded by Commissioner Modesette, to approve <br />Ordinance 2008-012 to amend Section 1325.09 and Section 1325.05, Subd. 8, of <br />the Zoning Code to apply the recently adopted B2 District design standards to the <br />B3 Service Business District. <br />
