As part of this meeting, Lyle Salmela and Michael Orange made a presentation to the City
Council regarding sustainable design, green building, and Leadership in Energy and
Environmental Design, commonly called LEED. while this focused on TCAAP, some of the
ideas could extend to the rest of Arden Hills. The purpose of the presentation and subsequent
discussion was to consider green and sustainable design strategies, one of the goals outlined for
the Zoning Code by the Community Development Department for 2009.
In follow-up to the Planning Commission's work session on February 4, 2009, Staff also asked
the City Council to express some of their priorities for the revised shoreland management
ordinance. Staff intends to have future discussions with the City Council and Planning
Commission throughout the updating process.
City of Arden Hills
Planning Commission Work Session for March 4, 2009
C:\Documents and Settings\charles.roberts\Desktop\030409 - PC report CC report.doc
Page 2 of 2
