<br />City of Arden Hills <br /> <br />Chapter 6 Nuisances and Offenses <br /> <br />or other rank vegetation to a greater height than twelve (12) inches on the average or <br /> <br />any accumulation of dead weeds, grass or brush. It shall also be unlawful for any such <br /> <br /> <br />person or persons to cause, suffer or allow poison ivy, ragweed or other poisonous plant <br /> <br />or plants detrimental to health to grow on any such lot or land in such a manner that <br /> <br />any part of the ivy, ragweed or other poisonous or harmful weed shall extend upon, <br /> <br />overhang or border any public place or allow the seed, pollen or other poisonous <br /> <br />particles or emanations therefrom to be carried through the air into any public place. <br /> <br />Subd. 2. The requirements of this subsection do not apply to areas established with <br /> <br />meadow vegetation, which is defined as grasses and flowering broad-leaf plants that are <br /> <br />native to, or adapted to, the State of Minnesota, and that are commonly found in <br /> <br />meadow .and prairie plant communities, except noxious weeds and other plants <br /> <br />prohibited by this paragraph, if, in these areas, the prior vegetation has been <br /> <br />eliminated and meadow vegetation planted through transplanting or seed by human or <br /> <br />mechanical means, the area is cut at least once per year to a height of no more than ten <br /> <br />inches if noxious weeds or other prohibited vegetation cover more than 250/0 of the <br /> <br />area, and a sign is posted on the property in a location likely to be seen by the public <br /> <br />advising that a meadow or prairie is being established. The sign shall be no smaller <br /> <br />than ten inches square and no longer than one square foot and no higher than three <br /> <br />feet tall. <br /> <br />6-3 <br />Adopted December 17,2001 <br />
