<br />~ <br />~HILLS <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: March 9,2009 <br /> <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br /> <br />FROM: James Lehnhoff, Community Development Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Resignation of Edward Werner from the EDC <br /> <br />ReQuested Action <br /> <br />Motion to accept the resignation of Edward Werner from the Economic Development <br />Commission. <br /> <br />Back2round <br /> <br />On February 13, 2009, Edward Werner submitted his resignation from the Economic <br />Development Commission (EDC). Due to his job, Mr. Werner has been unable to attend a <br />number of meetings, and he does not anticipate his schedule changing in the near future. Mr. <br />Werner's appointment had been set to expire at the end of2010. A replacement for his position <br />would fulfill the remainder of his term. <br /> <br />With Mr. Werner's resignation, three of the nine positions on the EDC will be vacant. The two <br />other vacant positions would have appointments that expire at the end of2010 and 2011. No <br />applications have been submitted to the City. The open positions have been posted to the web <br />and on CTV. <br /> <br />Based on the current composition of the EDC, the vacancies could be filled by residents or non- <br />residents affiliated with an Arden Hills business.
