April 22, 2009 <br />Ms. Meagan Beekman <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />1245 West Highway 96 <br />Arden Hills, MN 55112 <br />RE: Temporary signage permit <br />Arden Plaza Retail Center <br />Dear Meagan: <br />Thank you for taking the time to present and consider our permit for temporary signage at <br />Arden Plaza Retail Center. As you are aware this site is currently under review for <br />redevelopment of the office segment to a Walgreens Pharmacy store. In the meantime, <br />our existing retail tenants struggle with adequate signage at the site due to a great lacy of <br />visibility from the major streets. I appreciate the opportunity to present this proposal for <br />temporary signage rights at the driveway entrance of County Road E. <br />Our request is for small temporary signage to be allowed on an interim basis until the <br />new development is approved and therefore, new signage is installed for all tenants. <br />Currently, there are significant visibility constraints due to the office building as well as <br />other intrusions which are detrimental to the existing businesses. We, as the owners of the <br />building would like to support our tenants and watch them grow. Therefore, they need to <br />be allowed adequate signage for their businesses. We plan to provide this opportunity on <br />a permanent basis once the pending development is complete, but need, for the interim, a <br />signage solution. These temporary signs will be removed immediately upon the <br />installation of new site signage following the development. <br />I have enclosed the application for temporary signage at the site. Please consider this <br />appeal to support the private businesses that make Arden Hills a thriving city.
