<br />City Planner Beekman replied the dormer is for decorative purposes only. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman stated he did not see any reason why the variance should not <br />be granted since it appears this is an architectural issue that ties the garage into the rest of <br />the main house without adding any livable space to the dwelling. <br /> <br />Commissioner Holewa moved, seconded by Commissioner Zimmerman, to recommend <br />approval of Planning Case 09-008 for a variance at 1156 Amble Drive with conditions <br />based on the findings of fact, the submitted plans, as proposed in the April 8, 2009 <br />planning case report. <br /> <br />Further discussion: <br /> <br />City Planner Beekman stated a finding needs to be made as to the criteria listed with <br />respect to the circumstances in this case being unique to the property. <br /> <br />Commissioner Holewa amended his motion to include a finding that the circumstances in <br />this planning case are unique to the property because of the architectural nature of the <br />house. <br /> <br />Commissioner Zimmerman seconded the amended motion. <br /> <br />The amended motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />This Planning Case will be reviewed at the Monday, May 11, 2009, City Council <br />meeting. <br />
