He has Parkinson's Disease,, and I am his primary <br />caregiver. He also has inj*un*es in both shoulders, which limits his arm movements such as <br />lifting or raislrj-g his anus above his shoulders. <br />His doctors have stated he can live independently for possibly several years, but single - <br />floor living and caregiver assistance will be crucial for this to happen. <br />1126 Benton Way current split-level design offers two rooms and a bathroom up a flight <br />of stairs,, or two rooms and a bath down a flight of stairs. The basement is down an <br />additional set of stairs. The main floor currently contains the kitchen, dining and living <br />areas. The current floorplan is not realistically suitable to my fathers physical needs. <br />It is our goal to use some of the empty space in the middle of the property that separates <br />f% <br />th-le hou'asta, from the goaralaye to create a mai-ti-floor bedroom and bo0l- to caMommo&atemy <br />fathers' disabilities.
