<br />M <br /> <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />July 13, 2009 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br />Ron Moorse, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Greg Hoag, Public Works Director <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Engineering Services Agreement for Erosion Correction on Old City <br />Hall Trail <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The City of Arden Hills approved an engineering consultant pool on August 27, 2007 for use on <br />specialized projects or projects that the City of Roseville's Engineering Department may not <br />have the capacity to assist with. <br /> <br />Included in the approved 2009 Capital Improvement Program is $20,000 to complete a project to <br />correct a drainage issue along the Old City Hall trail adjacent to the back yard of the residential <br />property at 4504 Keithson Drive. Surface water is currently flowing from the pathway through <br />the property at 4504 Keithson Drive and causing erosion of a hillside and garden on the <br />resident's property. <br /> <br />To assist in determining a solution for this issue, staff asked Bolton and Menk, Inc. to review the <br />site and provide a scope of the services to prepare plans and specifications for a project. Bolton <br />and Menk, Inc. submitted a proposal for a total lump sum of $4,900; a copy of the proposal is <br />attached. After bids for this project are received, staffwill bring the project itselfback to the <br />City Council for final approval.
