<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - June 8, 2009 <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />2. PUBLIC INQUIRIES/INFORMATIONAL <br /> <br />Public <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead opened the public inquiries/informational at 7 :05 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Clifford Nimis, 1485 Glenhill Road, Arden Hills, stated concerns about the <br />speed limit and sound levels on Snelling Avenue. He stated that he has brought this <br />to the City's attention in the past with previous Councils. Recently there was a <br />publication that stated people in St. Paul are concerned about their traffic on <br />Snelling Avenue including the speed and congestion. He stated that indirectly <br />Arden Hills is involved in this and Arden Hills has the highest speed limit in the <br />northern suburbs south of 694. He continued to state that with the Highway 280 <br />adjustments that are being done there will be additional problems on Snelling <br />Avenue. He stated that he had left information with the City Councils for Roseville <br />and Falcon Heights showing that St. Paul is showing concerns for this road. He <br />suggested that the City's of Arden Hills, Roseville, Falcon Heights, and St. Paul <br />meet to further discuss their options and presenting them to Mn/DOT. He is <br />requesting the City Council look into the speed limit for Snelling Avenue <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead thanked Mr. Nimis for his concerns and asked Staff to put <br />together information regarding the ability to alter the speed limit on Snelling <br />Avenue and bring it to the City Council at a future work session. <br /> <br />Mr. George Staples, 1433 Forest Lane, Arden Hills, asked the Council to consider <br />having a hardship policy based on a fixed income for those property owners that are <br />being assessed as 2 REUs in the 2009 Glenarden Neighborhood PMP project. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead requested that Mr. Staples save his comments until the public <br />hearing related to the pavement management project later in the meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Harpstead closed the public inquiries/information at 7: 12 p.m. <br /> <br />A. TCAAP Update <br /> <br />City Administrator Ronald Moorse stated Representative McCollum is planning <br />a listening session at which elected officials from all government levels, as well as <br />the general public, will be invited to provide their input to Representative <br />McCollum regarding the future of the TCAAP property. The date for the listening <br />session is Monday, June 22. The time is tentatively set as 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. <br />The City Council and the Army/GSA, and a representative from Congresswoman <br />
