Ita.- <br />----ARQEN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: September 28, 2009 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members <br />Ron Moorse, City Administrator <br />FROM: Meagan Beekman, City Planner <br />SUBJECT: Chapter 5, Alcoholic Beverage Regulations <br />Requested Action <br />Approve Ordinance 2009-011 to amend Chapter 5 of the City Code regarding Alcoholic <br />Beverage Regulations as presented in the September 28, 2009, report to the City Council. <br />Approve Publishing a Summary of Ordinance 2009-011. <br />Approve Ordinance 2009-012 to amend Section III of the City's 2009 Fee Schedule to <br />add administrative fines for violations to the State's minor consumption laws. <br />Approve Publishing a Summary of Ordinance 2009-012 <br />BackLyround <br />Staff, together with the City Attorney, has drafted language to update the Alcoholic <br />Beverages Chapter of the City Code. The impetus for these changes came with the <br />State's adoption of the smoking ban. At that time the question of how the City regulates <br />the outdoor consumption of alcoholic beverages was raised. Staff asked the City <br />Attorney to review the issue.
