This change is based <br />on current practices within the industry, as well as common requirements found in <br />other Cities. <br />4. Administrative Fines (Section 500.18) — This section is the most notable change <br />from the existing regulations. This section of the Code proposes to add <br />administrative fines for violations to the State's minor consumption laws. In <br />other words, if an establishment serves alcoholic beverages to a minor, the City <br />can levy fines against the business. The fines increase with each violation, up to <br />and including the revocation of the establishment's liquor license. The fines are <br />stepped up if the business chooses to not participate in a City approved alcoholic <br />beverage training course for its employees. The fines are being proposed to be <br />added to the City's 2009 Fee Schedule. <br />Recommendation <br />Motion to Approve Ordinance 2009-011 to amend Chapter 5 of the City Code regarding <br />Alcoholic Beverage Regulations as presented in the September 28, 2009, report to the <br />City Council. <br />Motion to Approve Publishing a Summary of Ordinance 2009-011. <br />Motion to Approve Ordinance 2009-012 to amend Section III of the City's 2009 Fee <br />Schedule to add administrative fines for violations to the State's minor consumption <br />laws. <br />Motion to Approve Publishing a Summary of Ordinance 2009-012 <br />The ordinance changes require a 3/5 vote and the publication summaries require a 4/5 <br />vote. <br />Options <br />1.
