y <br /> a City of Arden Hills <br /> Bench Memorial Program Policy <br /> Y <br /> Program Purpose: Through the Memorial Bench Program, friends and relatives can provide a <br /> . <br /> unique dedication to loved ones by placing a bench in one of Arden Hills' beautiful parks or <br /> along a City trail. This historical dedication provides a lasting remembrance in honor of a loved <br /> one and enhances the meaning of a bench to observers. <br /> General: <br /> 1. Memorial benches may be donated as a tribute to deceased residents OR to honor a <br /> community member who has made significant contributions to society Y <br /> through ears of <br /> g <br /> service or donation. <br /> 2. A memorial bench may be dedicated in/along the donator's park or trail of choice. <br /> 3. Donor may choose the general placement within a park or along a trail. However, the <br /> exact location of the bench is dependent upon existing site conditions and shall be <br /> determined by the Parks and Recreation Manager. <br /> 4. The City of Arden Mils will order, assemble and secure the bench with concrete footings <br /> g <br /> in the approved location. <br /> 5. The City will perform general maintenance and upkeep around the bench area. <br /> p p <br /> b. The City accepts no liability for damage to an memorials from vandals or third parties. <br /> Y <br /> 7. The City reserves the right to remove any memorials that have been damaged and is in <br /> the view of Parks and Recreation Manager, beyond repair. <br /> 8. Benches are made from recycled materials in cedar color providing low maintenance and <br /> p g <br /> UV protection. <br /> 9. The cost of a memorial bench is $700. <br /> 10. A bronze engraved plaque will be affixed to the backrest of the bench. In the event that <br /> the plaque is damaged, defaced, and/or removed, the City will replace it for the useful life <br /> of the bench. <br /> 11. The cost of the engraved plaque is$175. <br /> Procedures: <br /> 1.
