September 18, 2009
Re: Noise Concerns
Dear Resident:
The City of Arden Hi11s has been reviewing concerns brought forth by residents in your
neighborhood about noise along Trunk Highway 10 and Interstate 694 and evaluating
possible noise mitigation alternatives.
Two areas have been identified for further evaluation; a map of the neighborhood is attached
with these areas highlighted. One area, just south of Royal Hills Park near the intersection of
North Snelling Avenue and Briarknoll Drive, is being evaluated for the potential of a berm.
The second area is along Interstate 694, near Norma Avenue and Norma Circle, which is
being evaluated for the potential of some minor grading and noise walls.
A field meeting will be held to provide interested residents information regarding the
Briarknoll berm on Monda,Y, September 28, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We will meet
at Royal Hills Park at the picnic shelter.
A presentation of potential noise mitigation alternatives in the Norma Avenue/Norma Circle
area will be given to the City Council at the regular City Council meeting on Monday,
October 12, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. A summary of the Briarknoll field meeting will also be
provided at the meeting. Residents are invited to attend.
If you have any questions or comments, you may contact Kristine Giga, City of Arden Hills,
at 651-792-7849 or :-'..`.aia.ry.._ae..
Sincerely,
,
t ,,J
Kristine Giga
Civil Engineer
City of Arden Hills
cc: Arden Hills City Council
Ron Moorse, City Administrator
Chris Chromy, Bolton & Menk, Inc.
