Staff recommends that the City continue to utilize the technical expertise of Bolton & <br />Menk to continue to provide assistance with Ramsey County's project during preliminary <br />and final design. Staff recommends that Chris Chromy participates in the proj ect <br />management team meetings, which typically occur monthly, as well as upcoming public <br />hearings, and completing 60% and 95% plan reviews. This will facilitate timely reviews <br />of any issues the City may have. <br />Staff also recommends utilizing Bolton & Menk, Inc., to continue investigating possible <br />noise mitigation, if the City Council chooses to complete a feasibility report. <br />The attached proposed amendment to the contract submitted by Bolton & Menk provides <br />a breakdown of the additional costs by proj ect area and a timeline for incurring these <br />costs. <br />Financial Implications <br />This technical support <br />Revolving (PIR) Fund. <br />is currently being funded using the Permanent Improvement <br />It is recommended that the additional services also be funded in <br />the same manner. Bolton & Menk will be reimbursed for actual hours spent. <br />The increase in services proposed in 2009, $4,900 for preliminary design and $15,000 for <br />a Briarknoll Highway Noise feasibility report, would not require an amendment to the <br />budget, as the General Fund is not affected. Currently, $15,000 has been proposed in the <br />2010 budget for planning/design for City improvements that may occur as a part of <br />Ramsey County's project.
