City of Roseville <br />Optional Manager and Server Training (OMST) <br />Approved Training Program <br />How to provide Optional Manager and Server Training <br />The following Roseville Ordinance excerpt describes OMST. <br />Roseville Ordinance 302.08 C. Optional Manager and Server <br />Training: Proven participation in this program will reduce <br />licensee holder penalties for failure of an alcohol sales <br />compliance check. If this option is chosen, all licensees and their <br />managers, and all employees or agents employed by the <br />licensee that sell or serve alcohol, shall attend and satisfactorily <br />complete a City approved or provided liquor licensee training <br />program. The required training shall be completed: <br />1. Prior to licensure or renewal for licensees and <br />managers, or <br />2. Prior to serving or selling for any employee or agent, <br />and <br />3. Every year thereafter unless probationary extension is <br />granted for hardship reasons. <br />This ordinance and training apply to on and off -sale establishments. <br />Optional Manager and Server Training can be provided by a <br />professional trainer (a list of some trainers is at the end of this <br />program) or through the establishment's own training program. In any <br />case, an establishment must submit a copy of their training program <br />to the Roseville Chief of Police for approval before providing the <br />training. The training program must be kept on file at the <br />establishment. <br />The program must include a sign -off sheet for signifying training and <br />understanding by all managers and sellers/servers of alcoholic <br />beverages. The training and sign -off must occur prior to the <br />employee's first selling/serving opportunity. The program and sign off <br />sheets must be submitted at each license renewal. Sign off sheets for <br />applicable new hires after that period must be sent to the Chief of <br />Police within one week of hire. <br />An establishment may choose to use the following, approved training <br />program as an alternative to the above mentioned options. The Police <br />Department will provide training material but does not give the <br />
