ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL—September 14, 2009 24 <br /> 9. Council Comments and Requests(continued) <br /> Councilmember Grant asked if the levels were significantly lower. <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that the worst meter, which is meter shed 59, <br /> has about a 20% margin. At this time they are not seeing long-term infiltration but <br /> they are seeing spikes based on the rainfall and direct inflow sources. <br /> Councilmember Grant clarified that there would be further analysis brought back <br /> to the Council. <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that Staff is waiting for responses from the <br /> Met. Council and doing further analysis before bringing the data to the Council for <br /> review. <br /> Councilmember Grant clarified that the City was required by the Met. Council to <br /> spend $100,100 for I&I efforts. He asked if the City was going to meet this goal <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that at this time there is approximately <br /> $85,000 to $90,000 spent and this does not include the sewer lining project. <br /> Councilmember Holden asked if Staff was putting together a manhole project as <br /> well <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that Staff is consulting with Bonestroo to - <br /> determine the best place for spending the remainder of the funds based on the <br /> spikes that were seen in the readings. - <br /> Councilmember Holden asked if there was a plan in place for those residents that <br /> are not in compliance with the sump pump ordinance after the sixty days. <br /> Public Works Director Hoag stated that currently there are two properties that are <br /> beyond the sixty days. There is a letter going to these residents providing them <br /> with one week to get into compliance. If they are not incompliance after that then <br /> Staff will be working with Finance to set up a $100 per month surcharge until they <br /> are in compliance. <br /> Councilmember Grant requested a change be made to the spreadsheet that added <br /> one more column indicating what the City has paid for each of the non-compliant <br /> sump pumps to become compliant. <br />
