ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION-OCTOBER 19, 2009 10
IF. Forestry Discussion (cont.)
Councilmember Holden agreed that some funds should be set aside in future
budgets to assist in reforestation.
Mayor Harpstead suggested the 2010 budget remain as is with funds allotted for
tree removal. He stated however, that the 2011 budget should consider funds for
trimming and tree replacement.
Councilmember Holmes suggested that $5,000 be set aside from the $37,000 in
20 10 for tree planting.
Public Works Director Hoag indicated the removal budget has been used for tree
plantings in the past and did not need a special allocation.
Councilmember Holden encouraged the City to take advantage of the tree sale
each spring put on by "Friends of the Parks" if funds are available within the
budget.
B. Administrative Fines
The Council agreed to discuss this item at a future meeting.
2. COUNCIL COMMENTS AND REQUESTS
Councilmember Grant noted the water tower on Red Fox/Gray Fox was rusting
through the paint. He questioned City Administrator Moorse regarding the second
amendment to the PDA and if he found if this item was tabled or denied.
Councilmember Grant indicated this was a crucial item as it was now in dispute
with RLLD.
City Administrator Moorse stated the item was tabled and his staff was still
reviewing meeting minutes and actions to determine final action.
Councilmember Grant questioned if staff could draft a response to the IMEDC
article. He indicated this would give the Council a way to respond uniformly
when racetrack questions or comments arise from the public.
Councilmember Grant asked if the Bocce golf was going to be replaced.
