Itaw.- <br />----ARZEN HILLS <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION NO.2009-043 <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING TRANSFERRING LAND FROM THE TWIN <br />CITIES ARMY AMMUNITION PLANT (TCAAP) PROPERTY TO RAMSEY <br />COUNTY FOR THE RICE CREEK SOUTH REGIONAL TRAIL CORRIDOR, THE <br />ARDEN HILLS ARMY TRAINING SITE (AHATS) TRAILHEAD, AND THE <br />VENTO WILDLIFE CORRIDOR <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills supports the transfer of an approximately 150 <br />foot wide Trail Corridor that extends along the eastern edge of the TCAAP property and the <br />southern edge of the Wildlife Corridor, comprising approximately 30 acres, to Ramsey <br />County for the construction of the Rice Creek South Regional Trail that connects the <br />Highway 96 Regional Trail to the Rice Creek North Regional Trail (see attached map); and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills supports transferring the 150 foot wide corridor <br />for the Rice Creek South Regional Trail to Ramsey County prior to the public sale of the <br />TCAAP property; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills 2030 Comprehensive Plan supports the <br />construction of a regional trail connecting the Highway 96 Regional Trail to the Rice Creek <br />North Regional Trail; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills supports the transfer of a 500 foot wide access <br />that extends from County Road I to the northern edge of the Wildlife Corridor, comprising <br />approximately 29 acres, to Ramsey County for a trailhead to support recreational access to <br />the AHATS property (see attached map); and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills 2030 Comprehensive Plan supports the <br />recreational use of the Primer Tracer portion of the TCAAP property and recreational access <br />to the AHATS property; and, <br />WHEREAS, the proposed projects will provide recreational opportunities to the <br />residents of Arden Hills and Ramsey County; and, <br />WHEREAS, the proposed projects will be an amenity to the future redevelopment of <br />the TCAAP property; and, <br />\\Ahdocs1\ahWHdata\Planning\Community Development\TCAAP\Planning - Post May 2009\Park and Open Space\2009-043, Resolution Supporting the TCAAP Trail <br />Corridor, Trailhead, and Vento Wildlife Corridor.doc <br />
